Onmyoji Training Guide! ⛩
Onmyoji Training Guide (Beginner → Midgame)
For the mobile RPG Onmyoji. The fastest early progress comes from focusing resources on one carry shikigami, one usable soul set, and the right daily/weekly activities.
⚡ The 80/20 rule: one farmer first
Pick one AoE DPS/farmer and push them to G6 before spreading resources around. Common beginner-friendly priorities include:
| Good first G6 | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tamamonomae | Fast farmer / PvE carry | Excellent if you own him. |
| Ubume | Budget AoE farmer | Great early investment and easier to build. |
| Asura | Top-tier PvE DPS | Outstanding if available. |
| Kuro Mujou | Early-game farmer | Commonly used while building stronger units. |
⚠ Do not
G4/G5 many different shikigami at once.
Dump black daruma skill-ups into random units.
Chase PvP builds before your farmer can clear PvE efficiently.
Souls: farm a usable set before a perfect set
For a farmer/DPS, aim for a practical ATK% / ATK% / Crit or Crit DMG setup with enough Crit to function. Early on, 6-star souls with the right main stats beat lower-star perfect substats.
| Slot | Typical DPS main stat |
|---|---|
| 2 | ATK% |
| 4 | ATK% |
| 6 | Crit% (until stable) → Crit DMG later |
Milestones
| Stage | Goal |
|---|---|
| Early | ~70–100% Crit with decent ATK |
| Midgame | Near 100% Crit, then push Crit DMG |
| Later | Optimize Speed tuning and set bonuses |
Common PvE soul sets
Seductress: reliable general PvE DPS/farming.
Shadow: strong burst setups and many farming comps.
Watcher: situational finisher/execution damage.
Good enough > perfect
A “good enough” 6★ set clears more content than endlessly rerolling for perfect substats.
Daily routine (15–30 minutes if you’re busy)
Complete Daily Tasks/Quests: AP, jade, coins, and progression materials add up quickly.
Use AP efficiently: farm soul dungeons if your farmer is weak; otherwise farm EXP fodder/chapters.
Realm Cards & Realm management: keep Realm Cards active whenever possible.
Guild activities: donate, check guild quests, and join guild events when available.
Friendship/mentorship systems: free resources are free resources.
Weekly priorities
Evo materials: evolve your core units on schedule.
Soul dungeon pushes: aim for the highest stage you can clear consistently, not barely.
Boss/event participation: even modest contributions often pay well.
Save jade: avoid impulse summons; target rate-up periods if you care about efficiency.
A practical progression path (Days 1–14)
| Days | Focus |
|---|---|
| 1–3 | Choose farmer, evolve to G4/G5, equip any decent ATK/Crit souls. |
| 4–7 | Push soul dungeon consistency, begin assembling a real Seductress/Shadow set. |
| 8–10 | Take farmer to G6, skill-up only if it’s a long-term carry. |
| 11–14 | Build a basic support core (orb provider + puller/speed + healer/shielder) around the farmer. |
Core team skeletons (generic, not meta-locked)
Fast farming
Puller/Speed lead → Orb provider → AoE farmer → Cleanup DPS → Flex support
Goal: move first, feed orbs, let the farmer wipe waves.
Story / general PvE
Orb provider → Healer/Shielder → Farmer DPS → Secondary DPS → Utility (dispel/control/buffer)
Goal: stable clears while undergeared.
Common beginner mistakes
Spreading skill-ups: Black Daruma are among the most valuable resources.
Ignoring Speed: In many modes, moving first matters more than a small damage increase.
Chasing SSR count over soul quality: A well-built SR/SSR farmer outperforms a box of unbuilt SSRs.
Over-farming low stages: Once you can clear a higher soul stage reliably, move up.
Neglecting guilds: guild rewards materially accelerate progression.
Resource budgeting
| Resource | Default rule |
|---|---|
| Jade | Save for meaningful summon events / account goals. |
| Black Daruma | Use only on long-term carries or top supports. |
| AP | Prioritize soul farming until your main farmer is functional. |
| Coins | Upgrade only promising 6★ souls; stop wasting coins on obvious junk. |
